Jacksonville Gets GE Advanced Manufacturing Facility

   Well it's now official. Jacksonville has been selected as the site for GE's advanced manufacturing facility. Calling it the city's largest job creation project in more that six years, the mayors office announced that GE oil & Gas has selected Jacksonville as the location for their new facility.
   This will create at least 500 new permanent full time jobs over the next three years with an average salary of $48,850 according to a press release from the mayors office.
   The 500,000 sf facility slated to open this November will be located at AllianceFlorida Cecil Commerce Center located on Jacksonville's Westside.
   Governor Scott was on hand for  the announcement and said "the new GE Oil & Gas facility in Jacksonville will bring at least 500 jobs, giving even more Florida families the opportunity to live the American dream."
