Daytona Beach News-Journal - Conservation Forestry, a New
Hampshire-based conservation land investment and management firm, recently paid
$4.65 million for several Flagler County timberland tracts totaling nearly 3,350
acres, according to Flagler County property records.
The largest tract was 1,975 acres along the east side of County Road 304
midway between U.S. 1 and State Road 11.
Another 990 acres is located along the east side of South Hudson Allen Road east of its intersection with County Road 304. Another 435 acres is located on the north side of State Road 100 between CR 302 and CR 205, west of Bunnell.
The seller was Plum Creek Timber Co., a Seattle-based company that manages more than 6.4 million acres of timberland across the Southeast, Northwest and Northeast, according to its website.
In June 2011, Conservation Forestry paid Plum Creek Timber Co. $22 million for 30,200 acres of timberland along the Volusia-Flagler county line.
