Commercial Real Estate News - Jacksonville, Fl

  • Jacksonville Economic Development Commission (JEDC) might be eliminated as Jacksonville City Hall considers an overhaul. Advisors to Mayor Brown are working on a plan that would replace the current JEDC with two new entities. The new entities would have separate responsibilities. One would be a downtown development corporation for projects in the downtown CBD and the second would be an Office of Economic Development for projects outside of the downtown CBD.

  • The St. Petersburg Times reported today that Wells Fargo & Co., economist Mark Vitner, predicts Florida's economy will grow at a faster pace than the rest of the country Vitner expected about 40,000 jobs will be added this year with 64,000 added next year. He state Florida's recovery has broadened beyond its travel and health care industries into retail and professional services.
