- The Jacksonville Business Journal will host the 6th annual Global Trade and Transportation Symposium on Tuesday, October 18 at the Marriott Southpoint. Alex Sink, former CFO of the State of Florida with be one of the moderator's as will Jeff Sheffield, Executive Director, North Florida TPO.
- The U.S. Conference of Mayors has appointed Jacksonville's Mayor Alvin Brown as Chair of it's Metro Export and Ports task force. Mayor Brown said the appointment will give Jacksonville a seat at the table and a voice for local businesses.
- SBA 504 Loan Interest Rates remain at all time low. For loans approved after 10.1.2011, the 20 year rate for standard loans is 4.83%
- Law Firms Merge: Gunster and Pappas Metcalf Jenks and Miller will merge. Gunster provides real estate, environmental and land use pratices. Gunster is based in West Palm Beach, Fl with 8 offices throughout Florida.
