Bye Bye Comcast

Hulu now has more subscribers than ComcastThe video streaming service revealed this week that it has surpassed 25 million viewers, up from 17 million in 2017. That means it now has more video customers than the biggest U.S. cable and satellite companies — including parent company Comcast, which as of September had some 21 million customers. Hulu still lags far behind its international rival Netflix, which has 137 million subscribers.  Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu have provided consumers with a friendly disruptive solution to get around major media conglomerate monopolies and expensive access to content. While I understand Disney, TimeWarner and Comcast wanting to control access to the content the produced or purchased, I doubt consumers will have a high tolerance for subscribing to dozens of services to access the content they want. I guess we’ll see, but I suspect these walled gardens won’t last long. So what is Comcast going to do... raise there rates!
