Downtown is Developing!

Jacksonville's Downtown Investment Authority (DIA) has taken yet another step towards the goal of attracting and alluring business tenants and national retailers to our downtown core. According to Aundra Wallace, CEO for the DIA, he will develop an ad hoc committee that will create a matrix that lays out every step of setting up a business downtown. The matrix will include the entire city process including the sometimes daunting task of planning and zoning.
Since 2000, there have been 92 projects completed downtown totaling over $1.7 billion, with 43% of that being directed into Downtown's urban core. Most recently, the city launched their Retail Enhancement Plan, which is a grant that offers up to $20/sq.ft. towards interior renovation for approved properties.

Downtown is seeking businesses, retailers and restaurants to occupy these once dilapidated and abandoned buildings and promote an interior core that's walk-able and vibrant for its residents and visitors.
