$2 BILLION TAX REDUCTION PROPOSED BY GOV. SCOTT
Florida's Gov. Rick Scott is traveling around the state talking with people about appropriate taxes to consider reducing for a cumulative $2 billion. For those involved in commercial real estate, owners, bankers, agents and managers, it is an opportunity to advise how the 6% sales tax on rents affect the economy. Members of CCIM, commercial real estate brokers, are organized with comments of the disadvantage of being the only area in the country, besides New York City, that taxes such. Studies indicate many jobs would be created if those taxes were abolished, but it will take several steps to reach such. I recommend you contact your organization to make a presentation.
