The Florida Times Union reported today that the delay of Hanjin developing a $300 million cargo terminal continues on hold. According to sources Hanjin has joined with an alliance that has opted to eliminate Jacksonville's port from from it's East Coast stops. One of the reasons given is the forty foot depth of the channel. The Corps of Engineers is analyzing the merits of deepening the channel to fifty feet.Hanjin has asked for forty-eight feet or better.
The question that Hanjin continues to ask is how deep the channel will be and when.
