Remember that when the Legislature is in session, your life, liberty and property are in JEOPARDY ! March 5, 2013 begins Florida's meeting of both houses.
Write, call or meet with your representative and senator to let them know your thoughts and/or feelings of issues. If enough input is made, unexpected changes can be accomplished.
Some years past as a member of the Florida Forestry Assn., about 40 of us helped retrieve a budget bill passed by both houses from the governor's desk and added $100,000 for work on a new pine tree disease. Another time, my wording was in a local bill that passed modifying a division of Jacksonville's city government after four of us lobbied in Tallahassee three different days. I have seen other surprises because a group organized and pushed the right buttons.
You can beat City Hall, but not easily.
